Celebrating International Day of the Midwife

CEC were delighted to partner with the Department of Health in hosting a webinar on 5th May to celebrate International Day of the Midwife.

The Webinar had 112 participants and included a number of very high profile addresses including our own Minister from Health Robin Swann MLA, the CNO Charlotte McArdle, Midwifery Officer Dale Spence and Dr Tedros, Director General of the WHO.

Professor Fran McConville, WHO used the opportunity to update everyone on the recently published the State of the Worlds Midwifery 2021 Report. We also heard from midwives delivering care during the pandemic as well as hearing from a number of service users sharing their experiences of the midwifery service during the pandemic.
