Who is this course for?
This course is for health professionals with a duty to respond to paediatric emergencies.
What will the course cover?
The course is based predominantly on the current UK Resuscitation council guidelines (2021) and provides participants with the theoretical component of paediatric basic life support (PBLS) (infants and children).
What people will get out of the programme?
This e-learning programme will enable participants will be able to access the most up to date information regarding paediatric life support and then apply this in an engaging way to help develop knowledge and inform practice.
Learn how to use a structured assessment using an Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability and Exposure (ABCDE) approach, demonstrate how to manage foreign body airway obstruction, describe the main causes of respiratory and cardio pulmonary arrest, demonstrate knowledge of how to perform PBLS and explain how to safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in paediatrics.
This programme will support participants to develop their ability to perform high quality paediatric basic life support, providing the foundation for advanced life support.
