Continence: Regional Multi-Professional Awareness Programme
To increase awareness of the role and responsibility of the healthcare professional in promoting continence and preventing incontinence
Following this study session the healthcare professional will be able to:
- Recognise the key indicators that result in loss of continence and the associated consequences for the individual.
- Initiate appropriate first line intervention strategies to promote continence.
- Discuss the factors that contribute to promoting continence to support optimum quality of life, independence and personal dignity for the individual.
- Refer to appropriate services to ensure best patient outcomes.
