Purpose

To enable recognition and appropriate response to paediatric mental health emergencies

Learning Outcomes

Participant will:

  • Identify a range of mental health issues that young people can present with in an emergency situation
  • The skills required in conducting an effective risk assessment for the young person in the community at risk of suicide and/or self-harm
  • The elements of effective assessment and safety planning of young people who may be at risk of suicide and/or self-harm
