Phonetic Transcription and Evidence based practice in Clinical Phonology (2 days) – Update



This training will update skills to support safe and effective practice for children with speech sound disorders.

Learning Outcomes

  • To review and up-date perception and production of phonetic symbols from the IPA at single sound, single word and connected speech levels for both typical and disordered speech.
  • To review and up-date essentials for assessment and phonological analysis of children with speech sound disorders
  • To review and up-date different approaches to managing phonologically based speech sound disorders
  • To apply clinical thinking to the selection and planning of appropriate intervention approaches for a range of phonologically based clinical cases


Qualified Speech and Language Therapist (5+ years post qualification)
