WHSCT Supervision - Nursing Supervisor Preparation Programme

 

Purpose

To provide participants with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills to become a supervisor for nursing supervision

 

PLEASE NOTE: It is part of the pre-requisites of this programme that participants will have completed the e-learning Supervision Module prior to attending this programme.  You can view and apply for the eLearning module by clicking here or accessed via www.hsclearning.com

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the programme you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate communication skills in facilitating Nursing Supervision
  • Demonstrate and utilise the key skills in the management of one-to-one and group supervision processes
  • Discuss the legal, professional, employee and personal accountability in relation to supervision
  • Explain the significance of completing the self-evaluation tool and an action plan to meet your needs to undertake your role as a supervisor

Audience

Nurses and Midwives on any part of the Professional Register. (This programme does not prepare the participant to undertake the Statutory Supervision of Midwives)

Applicants must be a Registered Nurse/Midwife for a minimum of one year

Applicants should have completed the e-learning module

Experiential learning, lectures, discussion and practical workshops
