Bereavement, Grief and Loss

 

Purpose

To develop an understanding of the grief process and how it may be experienced by those who suffer the loss of a loved one and the impact on health professionals.

Learning Outcomes

The workshop will facilitate the participants to:

  • Identify a range of theories and reactions to bereavement, grief and loss
  • Understand the importance of effective communication
  • Enhance the care and support to individuals during the grieving process
  • Recognise and explore the importance of self-care and support for other team members

Theory and group work.  Lecture, discussion and experiential learning.
