Purpose

To increase participants awareness of the use of the Mental Health Order

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, the participants will have an increased knowledge and understanding of the Mental Health Order, with regard to:

  • Part I - Introductory
  • Part II Compulsory Admission to Hospital & Guardianship
  • Part IV Consent to Treatment
  • Part V - The Role of the Mental Health Review Tribunal NI
  • Part VI - The Mental Health Commission
  • Have considered their responsibilities in relation to the use of the Order
