To increase awareness of the side effects of anti-psychotic medication and evidence based tools used to monitor these

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the adverse side effects of anti-psychotic medication
  • Identify side effects in terms of acute side effects and later onset side effects
  • Identify the nurses role in monitoring side effects
  • Explore evidence based tools to systematically monitor side effects
  • Discuss strategies to minimise or reduce side effects
